General Questions

Start here for answers about reservations, planning, group outings, weather, and preparing for your Grand Lake adventure.

Do I need to reserve my rental in advance?

Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially for weekends, holidays, and busy summer dates. Booking early gives you the best selection of rental types, departure times, and rental durations. Same-day rentals may be available, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

How far in advance should I arrive?

Plan to arrive early enough to complete any required paperwork, receive your safety instructions, and become familiar with your rental. Your confirmation information will include the appropriate arrival details for your reservation.

What should I bring with me?

Bring a valid driver’s license, your reservation information, weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and any personal items you may need. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended for UTV rentals and guided trail rides.

What happens if bad weather affects my reservation?

Weather conditions are evaluated with safety in mind. Light rain may not automatically cancel an activity, but severe weather, unsafe water conditions, or dangerous trail conditions may require a delay, rescheduling, or cancellation. Contact us if the forecast concerns you before leaving for your reservation.

Can you accommodate families or larger groups?

Yes. Rocks & Docks offers several rental options for couples, families, and groups. Availability will depend on the number of guests, the equipment selected, and your preferred date. Contact us before booking a larger group so we can help coordinate the best arrangement.

How do I choose the right adventure for my group?

Consider the number of guests, their ages, your group’s experience level, and whether you prefer the lake, trails, or open road. Our team can help you compare the available options and select the rental or guided experience that best fits your plans.

UTV Rental FAQs

Prepare for your trail ride with additional information about clothing, trail conditions, groups, stops, and what to expect along the way.

What should I wear for a UTV rental?

Wear comfortable clothing that can handle dust, mud, and changing outdoor conditions. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended. Depending on the weather, you may also want sunglasses, a light jacket, sunscreen, and clothing you do not mind getting dirty.

Are the trails suitable for first-time riders?

Many guests rent a UTV without having extensive trail-riding experience. Drivers should remain cautious, follow all instructions, and choose routes that match their comfort level. Trail conditions can vary, so beginners should avoid obstacles or terrain that appear beyond their ability.

How dirty should we expect to get?

That depends on recent weather and trail conditions. Dry trails may produce considerable dust, while rain can create mud, puddles, and wet crossings. Getting a little dirty is part of the experience, so dress accordingly and protect any personal items you bring.

Can several rented UTVs ride together?

Yes, groups may reserve multiple UTVs and ride together, subject to availability. Each driver remains responsible for operating their own machine safely and maintaining enough distance between vehicles while on the trail.

Can we stop during our rental to take pictures?

Yes. You may stop in safe, permitted areas to enjoy the scenery, take photographs, or allow your group to regroup. Never stop where you block a trail, roadway, entrance, or other riders.

What if something goes wrong with the UTV?

Do not take unnecessary risks or attempt anything that could damage the machine or cause an injury. Move to a safe location when possible and contact Rocks & Docks for instructions and assistance.

Boat Rental FAQs

Find additional information about preparing for your boat rental, cruising Grand Lake, stopping along the way, and enjoying your time on the water.

How early should we arrive for our boat rental?

Arrive early enough to complete check-in, load your belongings, receive operating and safety instructions, and review the boat before departure. Your booking confirmation will provide the recommended arrival information.

Can we dock at restaurants?

Yes, provided the destination permits boat access and suitable docking is available. Dock carefully, follow posted rules, and remain aware of changing lake conditions and the time required to return the boat as scheduled.

Can we bring food, drinks, and a cooler?

Guests may generally bring food, non-glass beverages, and an appropriately sized cooler. Keep the boat clean, secure loose items, and avoid anything that could stain or damage the upholstery. Contact us before bringing any item you are uncertain about.

Can we bring fishing equipment on the boat?

Fishing equipment may be allowed, but it must be stored and handled carefully to avoid damaging the boat or upholstery. Each angler is responsible for having any required Oklahoma fishing license and following state fishing regulations.

Are life jackets available for children?

Required safety equipment is provided, and we stock life jackets in a full range of sizes. For infants and children, we highly recommend bringing their own properly fitted life jackets to ensure the best fit and comfort throughout the rental.

Can we explore different parts of Grand Lake during the rental?

Yes, rental time may be used to cruise, visit coves, swim in appropriate areas, or stop at lakefront destinations. Plan your route conservatively and allow enough time to return by the scheduled deadline.

Jet Ski Rental FAQs

Learn more about riding with a passenger, switching drivers, storing personal items, and safely exploring Grand Lake by jet ski.

Can two qualified riders switch drivers during the rental?

Qualified drivers may be able to switch during the rental after meeting all applicable age, licensing, and rental requirements. Every person who may operate the jet ski should be identified during check-in and receive the necessary safety information before departure.

Can we rent more than one jet ski for our group?

Yes, multiple jet skis may be reserved together when availability allows. Booking early is recommended if your group wants several machines for the same date and rental period.

How wet will we get while riding?

You should expect to get wet. Spray, waves, turns, and normal boarding can soak riders even in calm conditions. Wear suitable swimwear or quick-drying clothing and secure anything that should remain dry.

Is there storage for a phone or personal belongings?

Jet skis typically have limited storage for small personal items. Space is not designed for large bags or valuables, and it may not remain completely dry. Use a waterproof pouch and leave unnecessary belongings in a secure location.

Are there no-wake zones on Grand Lake?

Yes. Riders must slow down and follow posted rules in marinas, near docks, around ramps, and in other designated areas. Always remain alert for swimmers, boats, shoreline activity, and changing traffic conditions.

Can a passenger ride with me?

A passenger may ride when the combined number and weight of riders remain within the machine’s limits. The driver is responsible for maintaining control and adjusting speed for the passenger, water conditions, and surrounding traffic.

Slingshot Rental FAQs

Get ready for the open road with answers about comfort, storage, scenic drives, parking, and planning your Slingshot experience.

Can I drive the Slingshot outside the immediate Grand Lake area?

Your rental may be used for normal recreational driving within the permitted rental area. Discuss any longer route or extended trip with Rocks & Docks before departure so mileage, timing, and rental restrictions can be confirmed.

Is there room for bags or personal belongings?

Storage is limited compared with a conventional automobile. Bring only the essentials and use small, soft-sided bags whenever possible. Large suitcases, coolers, and bulky items may not fit safely.

Is a Slingshot comfortable for a longer drive?

Many guests enjoy Slingshots for several hours or longer, but they are open-air performance vehicles rather than traditional passenger cars. Comfort can be affected by temperature, wind, sun exposure, road conditions, and the amount of personal gear you bring.

Can we park at restaurants and attractions?

Yes. A Slingshot can be parked in a regular legal parking space. Choose a visible, secure location, remove valuables, and remember that the interior is open and exposed to changing weather.

Does the Slingshot have a sound system or Bluetooth?

Features can vary by model. Ask about the specific Slingshot assigned to your reservation if Bluetooth connectivity, audio equipment, or another feature is important to your experience.

Where should we drive for a scenic Grand Lake experience?

Grand Lake and the surrounding communities offer shoreline views, wooded roads, lake crossings, restaurants, and local attractions. Ask our team for suggestions based on your available rental time and the type of drive you would enjoy.

Guided UTV Tour FAQs

Learn more about tour groups, trail conditions, children, photographs, private outings, and what to expect during a guided ride.

How many UTVs can participate in one guided tour?

Tour size depends on scheduling, available equipment, trail conditions, and whether guests are renting from Rocks & Docks or bringing their own UTVs. Contact us when organizing a larger group so the tour can be planned appropriately.

Will we have opportunities to stop and take pictures?

Yes. When trail and safety conditions permit, the guide may stop at appropriate locations for photographs, scenery, or a brief regrouping. The amount and location of stops can vary from one tour to another.

How much of the tour is spent riding?

Guided tours are designed to provide meaningful trail time while allowing for safety instructions, regrouping, and selected stops. The exact pace may vary based on trail conditions, group size, and the experience level of participating drivers.

Can children participate in a guided UTV tour?

Children may participate when they meet the applicable passenger requirements and can be safely secured in the vehicle. Contact Rocks & Docks before booking with younger children so their ages, sizes, and seating needs can be reviewed.

Will the tour include rough terrain, mud, or creek crossings?

Trail conditions change with weather and seasonal use. A tour may include rocks, hills, uneven surfaces, dust, mud, water, or other natural trail features. The guide will select a route based on current conditions and the group’s ability.

Can we arrange a private guided tour?

Private or group-specific tour arrangements may be available depending on the date, group size, equipment, and guide availability. Contact Rocks & Docks directly to discuss your plans before booking.
